A/W 2019 WOMENS AVANT-GARDE ECO-FASHION

'Depression' is an avant-garde collection that was inspired by the mental disorder, depression. As an art piece its inspiration lays deeply in symbolism and concept. Every aspect of the piece from the materials and techniques, to the undulating silhouette is inspired by depression and supposed to open the conversation in efforts to normalize the discussion of mental disorders.

The collection also deals with the concept of eco-anxiety and is a developed prototype for a sustainable fabric made from up-cycled plastic.

Featured in the AmCham womens conference,

The Asia-World Expo & the Eco- conscious festival

This piece was made with up-cyced plastic bags and was a prototype for a durable and lux fabric that could be woven using unwanted materials such as plastic.

This avant-garde, zero-waste piece was made out of a long yarn of plastic that was crochet into a sheet of fabric that was then hand sewn and tacked into its undulating sculptural silhouette.

As a statement piece it aimed to start the conversation and bring awareness to both eco-anxiety and the mental disorder of depression.
